Chinese Anti-Family Planning

The Chinese Communist government is stepping up efforts to expand its massive population control program. Since 1979 it has imposed a policy upon the population of limiting families to one child. This policy has had a drastic impact on the fertility rate. But this has not yet satisfied the Chinese government. It has therefore renewed its family control efforts by including additional health care and contraceptive choices for Chinese women. As well, the use of financial incentives for small families is being expanded and in some cases Chinese women must obtain official certificates to prove that they are not pregnant so that unauthorized pregnancies can be aborted immediately.
